Requirements and Responsibilities

Computer Equipment Repairer installs, configures and repairs computer systems and related equipment at user's location. Provides ongoing support and preventative maintenance on an as needed basis. Being a Computer Equipment Repairer maintains an inventory of repair parts and documents status of repair orders. Areas of support typically include desktop/laptop computers, printers and other peripheral equipment, as well as basic software and networking support. Additionally, Computer Equipment Repairer may require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. The Computer Equipment Repairer gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Works under moderate supervision. To be a Computer Equipment Repairer typically requires 1-3 years of related experience.
