Requirements and Responsibilities

Cost Estimation Engineer IV estimates costs for engineering projects based on an analysis of project technical requirements. Collects and analyzes all project costs, including raw materials, labor, equipment and tooling to ensure estimates are accurate. Being a Cost Estimation Engineer IV identifies and quantifies potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs. Updates costs as necessary based on new information and project scope changes. Additionally, Cost Estimation Engineer IV requires interface with project management, engineering, and procurement departments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Cost Estimation Engineer IV is a specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. To be a Cost Estimation Engineer IV typically requires 7+ years of related experience.
