Requirements and Responsibilities

Disaster Recovery Director directs and oversees all organization-wide risk management, business continuance, and disaster recovery plans, processes, and teams that ensure the security and integrity of company data, databases, information systems, and technology. Develops disaster recovery and resumption plans for the critical processes and systems that are core to the organization's continued business operations in the event of a disruption. Being a Disaster Recovery Director ensures all business continuance procedures and plans are tested, documented and monitored and provide rapid response and recovery to system events. Establishes service level recovery standards and agreements internally and with vendors. Additionally, Disaster Recovery Director has extensive experience and knowledge of disaster recovery and business resumption processes. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a top management. The Disaster Recovery Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Disaster Recovery Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.
