Requirements and Responsibilities

Director of Commercial Lending directs and manages commercial lending activity for a designated market of the organization. Establishes and manages lending objectives, targets, strategies, and practices to achieve organizational financial, growth, and service goals. Being a Director of Commercial Lending seeks out new business opportunities and develops strategies to expand existing business. Manages the maintenance and servicing of existing commercial loan portfolio. Additionally, Director of Commercial Lending adheres to all regulatory requirements and internal risk and operating policies and procedures. Builds a high-performance lending team with individual coaching and professional development opportunities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Director of Commercial Lending manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Director of Commercial Lending typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
