Requirements and Responsibilities

Hazardous Waste Technician I implements procedures for collecting and disposing hazardous or contaminated materials per governmental regulations. Follows standard operating procedures (SOP) to safely handle and process hazardous materials. Being a Hazardous Waste Technician I assists with inspections, audits, and training. Responds to accidents and incidents. Additionally, Hazardous Waste Technician I logs activities in appropriate systems. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Hazardous Waste Technician I works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.
