Requirements and Responsibilities

Heavy Assembler II assembles fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units. Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Heavy Assembler II typically use hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous light power tools and equipment. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Additionally, Heavy Assembler II requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. The Heavy Assembler II gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Works under moderate supervision. To be a Heavy Assembler II typically requires 1-3 years of related experience.
