Heavy Assembler II assembles fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units. Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Heavy Assembler II typically use hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous light power tools and equipment. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Additionally, Heavy Assembler II requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. The Heavy Assembler II gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Works under moderate supervision.
