Requirements and Responsibilities

Heavy Assembler III assembles fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units. Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Heavy Assembler III typically uses hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous light power tools and equipment. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Additionally, Heavy Assembler III requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Heavy Assembler III has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. To be a Heavy Assembler III typically requires 3-5 years of related experience.
