Requirements and Responsibilities

Information Technology Auditor Manager oversees a staff of IT auditors responsible for auditing information systems, platforms, and operating procedures in accordance with established corporate standards for efficiency, accuracy and security. Evaluates IT infrastructure in terms of risk to the organization and establishes controls to mitigate loss. Being an Information Technology Auditor Manager determines and recommends improvements in current risk management controls and implementation of system changes or upgrades. Develops information systems auditing procedures and trains staff on compliance guidelines. Additionally, Information Technology Auditor Manager monitors procedures and provides top management with reports. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Information Technology Auditor Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be an Information Technology Auditor Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
