Paralegal IV assists and supports attorneys with research for trial or due diligence. Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes. Being a Paralegal IV prepares legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, etc. May direct the work of clerical or other support staff. May be responsible for the creation and administration of legal databases. Additionally, Paralegal IV has complete understanding of technical legal terminology. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to an attorney. Typically requires paralegal certification.
