Requirements and Responsibilities

Sarbanes Oxley Manager manages organization's compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act. Develops processes to ensure compliance with all SOX requirements. Being a Sarbanes Oxley Manager designs and administers internal controls over financial reporting. Reviews financial reporting, identifies process deficiencies and recommends improvements. Additionally, Sarbanes Oxley Manager reports test results to top management. May develop and conduct SOX compliance training for employees. May serve as a liaison between internal and external auditors. Stays abreast of changes in SOX regulations to ensure timely compliance. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Sarbanes Oxley Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Sarbanes Oxley Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
