Requirements and Responsibilities

SVP of Systems Architecture oversees all aspects of the architectural design, development, and deployment of an organization's overall IT systems. Creates the strategy, design, and vision of the entire systems architecture function. Being an SVP of Systems Architecture ensures that systems are designed to consider functional requirements, scalability, and security. Evaluates system solutions based on user needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms. Additionally, SVP of Systems Architecture identifies and researches potential technology products to enhance solution delivery. Develops strategies and policies to meet overall business goals. Collaborates with vendors or third-party service providers to negotiate and acquire essential software/hardware to maintain systems architecture. May require a master's degree. Typically reports to top management. The SVP of Systems Architecture manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes/implements overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business. To be an SVP of Systems Architecture typically requires 10+ years of progressive leadership experience. Has extensive knowledge of the overall departmental function.
