Requirements and Responsibilities

Top Clinical Information Systems Executive establishes strategic direction, policies, and procedures for the organization's clinical information systems with the goal of improving clinical operations. Guides the selection, development, and/or implementation of systems designed to effectively manage medical information and meet the needs of patient care staff. Being a Top Clinical Information Systems Executive coordinates between IT and clinical staff in order to ensure effective integration of clinical systems with other institutional applications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Top Clinical Information Systems Executive typically reports to top management.
