Requirements and Responsibilities

Webmaster develops and maintains an organization's web site or intranet site. Coordinates across the organization to publish or develop new content. Being a Webmaster designs the look and feel for the site. Monitors site traffic and helps scale site capacity to meet traffic demands and performance expectations. Additionally, Webmaster performs backups, manages databases, and administers security. Must have a working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and SQL. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Webmaster gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. To be a Webmaster typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.
