The University of Colorado Boulder encourages applications for an Assistant Director of Advising! This professional leadership position in the University Exploration and Advising Center (UEAC) is responsible for supervision of multiple academic advisors, as well as strategic planning, oversight and assessment for key student support logistics and staff development. These tasks include advisor assignment and scheduling oversight, advising-related analytics, and both onboarding and ongoing training for UEAC advisors. The position also provides ad hoc student-facing support, teaches for-credit courses as applicable, and oversees the development of relevant programs and initiatives to support student success in the Program in Exploratory Studies. The individual in this position will report to and work closely with the Director of First-Year and Exploratory Advising as well as additional leadership members and front-line staff in the UEAC. In addition to the primary functions of leadership, staff development, creative problem-solving, and the creation, implementation and assessment of relevant student success initiatives, the individual in this position will also collaborate with campus partners in various roles across CU Boulder including the important campus-wide First-Year Advising Network.
Academic advising in the University Exploration & Advising Center focuses on exploration, discovery, and supportive connection with first- and second-year students, which requires a specialized knowledge base across many disciplines as well as a keen understanding of related functional areas.
