Academic Advising Director directs the academic advising department, its processes, and its advisors. Works closely with academic advisors to ensure that a proactive and high-quality approach is taken with all students advising needs. Being an Academic Advising Director assists Dean or Associate Dean in the preparation and implementation of department wide goals, procedures, and controls. Analyzes existing goals and programs and recommends improvements. Additionally, Academic Advising Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to the associate dean. The Academic Advising Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be an Academic Advising Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required. RATE OF PAY: $20.00/hr - $20.20/hr
JOB SUMMARY:
This position will be a certified teacher who will be responsible to deliver our summer curriculum.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of research-based instructional strategies that engage all students.
Content area expertise.
Ability to identify scholar learning needs, deliver appropriately.
Strong working knowledge of instructional shifts necessary for alignment to the Common Core State Standards.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and adjust and adapt instructional strategies swiftly given the short duration of summer programs (4 - 6 weeks).
Evidence of efficacy and willingness to be a team player.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree is preferred.
Minimum of one year teaching experience in Pasco County School District.
Valid state teaching certification.
Previous and relevant experience in utilizing and implementing data-driven instructional practices.
Experience in the use of technology (computer/internet) for assessment and instruction.
Knowledge of differentiated instructional practices and strategies
Drive to improve the minds and lives of scholars within their community.
Proven track-record of high achievement in a classroom setting.
Mastery of and enthusiasm for (literacy/math) academic standards and instructional rigor.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Committed to the goals of the program and approach.
