    Salary Range: $55,000-$60, 000 Exempt

    Monday - Friday. 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. (or as scheduled) Some weekends

    PRIMARY FUNCTION:

    The CO-AAP (Colorado Afterschool Academic Program) Program Director is directly responsible for overseeing CO-MP program operations for three sites. The primary areas of focus will be grant oversight and the coordination of STEM and Math enrichment program development, evaluation and reporting.

    The Program Director is responsible for overseeing program development, activities, and services that prepare youth for success by creating a safe and positive Club environment that facilitates achievement and results in designated outcomes.

    Primary Responsibility

    Oversee three, out-of-school time sites that strive to improve student

    engagement and proficiency in math and STEM, school attendance, and family engagement.

    • Plan, develop, and evaluate overall programs, services and activities to ensure objectives are meet along with the needs and interests of students.
    • Collect and report student data and program information from each site to meet grant reporting requirements. Data may address activities, attendance, participation and other areas as needed for compliance.
    • Allocate program expenditures in keeping with the grant budget and requirements.
    • Identify partners and training to support program outcomes and student success.
    • Provide direct and indirect supervision of site coordinators and other staff.
    • Develop, manage and provide staff development opportunities for staff and volunteers and conduct regular staff meetings.
    • Oversight and planning of family engagement activities.
    • Monitoring and Support for grant performance measures:

    Academic

    Benchmark 2024: By the end of each year of the grant, 70% of participating students (First through Fifth grade) who attend at least 75 hours of the program will demonstrate growth or proficiency in math as measured by objective data from !station and/or lready.

    Essential Skills

    Benchmark 2024: By the end of each year of the grant, as a result of participating in STEM activities, 60% of student attendees will improve their problem solving, collaboration and creativity skills in math and science from pretest to post-test, as measured by the CO-MP Essential Skills Student Improvement Survey completed by the participants' math and/or science teachers.

    School Attendance/Engagement

    Benchmark 2024: In each year of the grant, as a result of their participation in the CO-MP community learning center, 60% of attendees will increase their school attendance by two percentage points (for example, from 88% to 90%), as measured by end-of-year school district attendance data from previous school year to the current school year.

    Family Engagement

    Benchmark 2024: In each year of the grant, 75% of family members who attend four or more STEM nights throughout the year will report an increase in their capacity to support their students' STEM learning as measured by a post event survey at the end of the school year.

    Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities):

    • Ensure implementation of approved application (monitor program/budget appropriately)
    • Complete necessary reports and submit to state
    • Monitor the recruitment and retention of students
    • Reviews daily lesson plans and provides instructional support
    • Communicate with school-day teachers regarding specific student needs; tracks attendance, enrollment and calendar of activities
    • Develop program calendar/schedule and ensure activities are delivered as intended
    • Schedule and supervise tutors, instructional staff, and program volunteers
    • Develop operational policies and practices for out of school time program in cooperation with staff, youth and parents
    • Attend mandated program directors' meetings and required professional development trainings
    • Ensure compliance with evaluation requirements; data entry into required collection systems; and, communicate program needs and give regular updates to school administrator
    • Monitor program delivery and work with program staff to plan and implement improvements
    • Communicate with club staff, members, and partner agencies to ensure understanding of program opportunities
    • Establish and maintain program goals and settings that ensure the health and safety of members
    • Ensure the evaluation of Club programs on a continual basis and ensures

    programs/activities respond to member needs

    • Control program and activity expenditures within the approved budget
    • Monitors program areas and provides constructive feedback to staff with regard to program delivery and member guidance and discipline
    • Trains and coaches program staff to ensure an environment that promotes the physical, social and emotional well-being of youth, which incorporates guidance and discipline principles and ensures understanding of designated programs and creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment
    • Collaborate with community organizations to enhance Club programming, i.e., schedule speakers from the community, arrange field trips to community venues, etc.

    Skills/Knowledge Required:

    •* *Bachelor's Degree with courses in education, career development, psychology, or a science preferred. Special consideration may be given for equivalent experience and personal qualifications in lieu of degree

    • Minimum 5 years' experience with youth or related field, including experience in supervision, administration, and community relations.
    • Experience in school settings preferred
    • Ability to work and think independently
    • Strong knowledge of the needs of youth ages 6-18 based on physical, cognitive, psychological and social development
    • Ability to work with the general public
    • Ability to oversee and evaluate quality programs for youth

    • Valid State Driver's License with little or no violations
    • Pass random drug testing
    • Pass mandatory background screening
    • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
    • Organized and able to manage details efficiently and effectively
    • Computer proficient, including MS Word and Excel
    • Flexibility, patience, tolerance and willingness to learn new related skills

    Physical Requirements/ Work Environment

    The successful candidate must be able to use a variety of janitorial / office equipment including vacuum cleaner, computer, telephone, and / or other equipment. S/he may be required to lift supplies, materials, and collateral materials weighing up to 50 pounds. S/he will be required to be on their feet the majority of the workday.
