Academic Advisor advises university/college students in course and major selection, requirements for selected area of concentration, and post-college plans. Assists students in setting academic goals, course planning and career development. Being an Academic Advisor may work with individual students or groups. Requires a bachelor's degree in counseling or related field or its equivalent. Additionally, Academic Advisor typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Academic Advisor gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. The primary function of an Academic Advisor is to build a personalized relationship that fosters a learning centered advisement experience for the student. The successful advisor focuses on the need to assess each student’s stage of development and along with the student establishes academic, personal and professional goals. Activities include academic and technical support, registration, and retention initiatives. This position is best suited for someone who prefers fast-paced environments, adapts to change and seeks to actively develop new skills.
Position Status: Non-exempt
Work Hours: Mon–Fri. Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays; Secondary holidays may be a scheduled work day.
Reports To: Student Services Supervisor
Location: Orchard Park, NY
This position is performed onsite, however, there are opportunities to work a hybrid/work-from-home schedule based on tenure and performance.

Salary Range:
$42,000 - $45,500 per year ($20.19 - $21.87 per hour)
This position is eligible for overtime.
