Location: Creston, Iowa
Southwestern Community College department of athletics is seeking an academic success coach for all student-athletes. The success coach will play an integral role in providing academic counseling and support while monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes. The individual will work collaboratively across campus to develop and coordinate an academic assistance program designed to enable student-athletes to receive appropriate and timely academic assistance and to develop viable educational goals and academic strategies to achieve those goals. The success coach will work to ensure compliance with SWCC, ICCAC, and NJCAA rules and regulations. This is a two-year position funded through the AmeriCorps program. The success coach will receive free room and board, a living allowance and an education award upon successful completion of their term of service.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree is required. Strong communication, organization, and computer skills required. Experience either as a student-athlete or working in an athletic department is preferred. Maturity and good character are a must. Must be student-centered, self-initiated, innovative and results-driven.
