The Academic Coordinator, Sport and Fitness Management Programs, assists the Dean of Academic Affairs with planning and guiding the development of program curricula and assessment strategies. This position manages class schedules and academic projects, conducts faculty hiring and training, and advises students. The Academic Coordinator is proficient in the use of Canvas (learning management system), exam proctoring systems, data collection and analysis, and database management.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Manage the development of comprehensive Sport and Fitness Managementprogram curricula and assessment strategies.
2. Design and implement comprehensive academic advising and support services for students in hybrid and online courses.
3. Develop the schedule of courses each term and assign faculty.
4. Host student orientation and meetings each term.
5. Monitor the student registration process to ensure accuracy and efficiency in meeting student needs.
6. Monitor student attendance and student academic progress.
7. Advise students who withdraw from courses and improve processes to increase retention.
8. Assist and support the University’s assessment and accreditation functions.
9. Host faculty orientation and various meetings throughout each term
10. Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Sport and Fitness Managementprograms
11. Prepare and submit academic reports for the Sport and Fitness Managementprograms each term.
12. Assist the Dean of Academic Affairs in implementing campus policies that promote professional development and retention of a highly qualified and diverse faculty.

Minimum Requirements:
1. Doctorate degree in sport and fitness management, sport science, sports management or a related field and over three years’ experience in higher education or an equivalent combination of education and experience
2. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office 365
3. Proven experience with learning management systems
4. Experience in licensing process of CIE and DEAC accreditation standards a plus.
