JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Nursing Professional Development and Practice Excellence Department (NPDPD), the Nursing Support Coordinator is a Patient Care Technician with acute clinical care experience and is responsible for orienting, mentoring and teaching of clinical support staff members of equal or lower credentials in skill performance, knowledge validation and documentation of clinical practice in order to meet standards of practice in clinical care.
This position's duties include educating staff in reviewing standards of clinical care, workflows, reviewing documentation strategies in EPIC, and assisting in teaching PCT classes. In addition, this role will perform administrative duties which include but are not limited to participation in committees, projects as assigned, standard work development, scheduling of education and on-boarding of staff.
This position must role model best practices in the clinical care and environment of care arenas. Lastly, this position collaborates with NPDPD to observe and identify challenges in delivering best practice in care.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Education:
Associates Degree in a Health Science related field or matriculation into an Associate's Health Science related program
Experience:
5 years of acute care Patient Care Technician experience.
Recent experience in training or precepting new employees
Licensure, Certification, Registration:
Must have at time of hire and maintain thereafter at least one of the following Certifications:
Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A)
Language Skills:
Strong written and verbal skills with the English language
