    KorthaseFlinn is seeking an entry-level Customer Service Representative/Account Manager for its Business Insurance Team. We are willing to train a candidate with no insurance experience. A successful candidate will support KorthaseFlinn’s business property & casualty clients, their HR or Finance staff, or office managers in the handling of insurance matters such as adding or removing vehicles and other policy changes, filing claims and billing issues in a friendly, professional, and confidential manner.

    While certainly not limited to this list, some backgrounds that might have easily transferable skills may include accounting, banking, commercial lending support, title insurance, loan closers, or B2B account management. The position is full-time in our Petoskey, Michigan office. This is a full-time exempt position with an estimated compensation range of $45,000 - $60,000.

    All applicants must be over age 18, over age 21 preferred and must not be disqualified from obtaining Michigan Insurance licensing at a later time.All applicants must be willing to commute to our Petoskey office (brand new by summer) for some period of time. You will train in Petoskey for likely the next few months. A willingness and ability to work or attend meetings in Petoskey would be preferred, but not required. Some flexibility is possible.

    Accountabilities:

    Core

    • Create a positive experience in every interaction with internal and external clients.
    • Maintain confidentiality, both within and outside the agency, of all information encountered in the course of performing assigned duties.
    • Process and document policy/coverages changes using our agency management system and insurance company systems.
    • Assist clients with payment, billing or claim inquiries. (“What is my deductible?” or “This bill says I owe $500, but I made a change that should decrease it. Do I pay now?”)
    • Verify accuracy of changes recorded and renewals issued by insurance companies.
    • Set priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.
    • Assume responsibility for meeting a client's needs to the best of your ability and engage team members as appropriate
    • Take ownership of your learning and growth with an eye toward a long career with KorthaseFlinn.
    • Recognize, accept, and assimilate feedback from clients and team members.

    Expanded

    • Pursue insurance licensing. (We foot the bill for the classes to help you prepare.)
    • Develop your general insurance knowledge to better serve KorthaseFlinn's clients.
    • Take increased responsibility for client renewal cycles.
    • Build trust in and from key contacts at insurance companies and your team members .

    The successful candidate’s knowledge, experience, abilities, and desire to grow will ultimately define the initial scope of this role and the depth to which she or he reaches into the Expanded or Advanced duties over time.

    Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Baccalaureate/Associate Degree welcome.
