Accountant maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Being an Accountant compiles financial data to aid more senior accountants in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Assists in analyzing current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Additionally, Accountant typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Accountant work is closely managed.     • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of the monthly accounting period close including reviewing of journal entries, identification and resolution of issues.
    • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, internal financial management reports, and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
    • Works closely with other departments to maintain adherence to internal controls.
    • Prepare monthly inventory reconciliations.
    • Assist with quarter-end, and year-end audit with outside auditors and fiscal year accounting close.
    • Coordinate the year-end audit with outside auditors and fiscal year accounting close.
    • Provide leadership, direction and guidance to department personnel.
    • Other responsibilities as required.
     
    Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, MBA preferred.
    • 4-8 years of progressive experience in general accounting and inventory functions, across multiple locations and business units.
    • Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
    • Must have experience with SOX Compliance and Audits.
    • Government accounting experience is a plus!
    • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the organization.
    • Working knowledge of applicable accounting and payroll laws, regulations, and standards.
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Outlook and working knowledge of SharePoint and PowerPoint
