    • Research, analyze, and identify trial balance errors including data elements and proper financial postings.
    • Perform analysis and reconciliation of trial balance and budgetary resources, identifying differences and detailing root cause.

    Qualifications

    Applicants MUST have related financial experience AND/OR a related financial degree (examples include: Finance, Accounting, Management, Actuarial Science, or related), in addition to meeting Office of Personnel Management (OPM) minimum qualification requirements. Substitution of combination of education and experience must still, in conjunction, minimally satisfy the DHA qualification requirement.


    Basic Requirement:
    This position has a positive education requirement. Applicants must meet the basic educations requirements in order to be found minimally qualified for the position.

    Completion of all requirements for a bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.
    OR
    Candidates may also qualify through a combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of professional accounting experience (at least one year must be equivalent to the journeyman level) or an equivalent combination of professional accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge AND 24 semester hours in accounting/auditing courses or a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor.

    Specialized Experience:
    For the GS-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-11 if outside the Federal service.

    Specialized experience is defined as experience with identifying accounting errors and implementing resolution steps as provided by lead.

    For the GS-13, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-12 if outside the Federal service.

    Specialized experience is defined as experience with ensuring the adequacy, accuracy, and effectiveness of finance systems as related to the flow of accounting events, to include identification of accounting errors, immediate resolution, and implementation utilizing the Army's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and both finance and non-financial feeder systems.

    In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of the competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Applicants must describe how their experience meets the competencies within the body of the resume. No separate statements addressing competencies are required.
