Accountant maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Being an Accountant compiles financial data to aid more senior accountants in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Assists in analyzing current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. About the Role
This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in a role with varied responsibilities. This position is the key accounting support for the manufacturing side of our business and a partner to the project management team. You will engage in all aspects of accounting from AP & AR to month end close.
Key Responsibilities
· Performs general cost accounting and other related duties
· Closes the monthly books
· Perform general account analysis and reconciliations, including cash accounts
· Prepare journal entries in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
· Review the general ledger activity to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
· Process Accounts Payable and disbursements
· Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable billing and collections
· Manage company business licenses and annual reporting
· Prepare and file state sales tax returns
· Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements
Qualified candidates should offer the following experiences and skills
· Associates degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field
· 5 years of relevant work experience, Manufacturing preferred
· Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
· Proficient with accounting software
· Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
· Strong time management skills with ability to prioritize
· Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and collaborate well at all levels of the organization
· Strong problem solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
