Accounting Clerk jobs in Binghamton, NY

The Children's Home is seeking a skilled Accounting Clerk to join our finance department!!

Job Summary: This accounting role will support the finance department and the agency in keeping track of important accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and other financial tasks . The individual in this finance role will also provide daily support to the Controller, and perform a variety of other accounting related duties in the finance department.

*This is an in person role that requires the individual to work in the office located in Binghamton, NY.*

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain accounts receivable and payables and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assist with monthly financial statements.
• Track agency contracts.
• Meet processing and reporting deadlines.
• Communicate with other departments within the agency, as well as controller.
• Maintain integrity when working with personal and sensitive financial information.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree
• 3-5 years’ experience in accounting role or relevant field required.

Relevant Knowledge & Essential Skills: The ideal candidate for this position will have a thorough understanding of non-profit accounting. The individual in this role should have a strong knowledge of Accounts Receivable/ Accounts Payable/ General Ledger, computerized accounting software, and Microsoft Excel. The ideal candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong numeracy and analytical skills, and be detail-oriented. This position does require the individual to sit in an office setting for extended periods of time.

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
