Accounting Clerk performs routine accounting activities such as data entry, maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports. Reviews, codes, and verifies transactions including billings, invoices, checks, and journal entries. Being an Accounting Clerk assists in completing moderately complex calculations using spreadsheets and other software tools. Reconciles accounts and bank statements. Additionally, Accounting Clerk has a basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounting Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Toyota of the Shoals is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter for our open position as an Automotive Accounting Clerk. This person will be provide accounting and clerical support by accurately preparing and maintaining documents and records. This position will be responsible for filing in an organized and timely manner and entering data of financial transactions. This is a tremendous opportunity we have to offer. The ideal candidate must have at least one year of experience in automotive accounting. Candidates must have a pleasant and helpful personality, strong administrative and organizational skills, good computer skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance and support to accounting personnel
- Helps with vehicle inventory control and maintains accurate records
- Manages inbound communication, such as phone calls and messages, e-mails, and letters
- Provides clerical support, such as typing, filing, copying, data entry, and record keeping
- Manages all required paperwork and records and prepares documentation (forms, reports, etc.) when needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications- Must have 1 year minimum automotive accounting experience
- CDK experience a plus
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
- Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Highly professional and dependable
- Helpful attitude and friendly demeanor
- Excellent telephone skills
- Strong computer, typing, and internet skills, including Microsoft Office suite
