Full-Time Accounting Assistant with STS Industrial

Available for immediate start date in our Sulphur, Louisiana location.

This role involves:

• Managing heavy invoicing entries within a process that is time sensitive daily and include many exceptions within the process,
• Managing and sorting a high volume of time sensitive documents each day,
• Managing distractions 'coming at you' all day while being able to remain focused on the primary invoicing tasks,
• Processing customer credit checks,
• Setting up Vendor and Customer accounts,
• Ongoing willingness to support the Accounting Manager in department workload and directives,
• Being willing to do general clerical tasks when needed for company-wide business support

IMPORTANT TO KNOW: The responsibilities of this role require a minimum of 90 days initial training, as well as up to 12 months of ongoing training to become highly proficient with the overall Accounting department processes and interactions with other departments company wide.

This is a staff position, not a management position, thus it will require someone who loves to support the work and responsibilities of the company managers.

The role of this position is primarily entering invoices most of the day every day, every week, every month of the year. There are other responsibilities in this role, but the primary responsibility is invoice entry.

This role is most suited for someone who loves keyboard work, looking at a monitor all day, reconciling numbers, working through established processes, chasing completion of large stacks of invoices that never stop 'coming at you' - and NOT requiring much human interaction daily.

This role is ideal for someone who is very focused, not easily distracted, and who enjoys competing with themselves every day to conquer the accounting stacks and mountains of invoicing.

Compensation Summary:
$17-18/ per hour

Quarterly Teamwork Bonus Program*

*Bonuses are calculated based on your performance, the team's performance, and the company's performance during the 3-month period of time. Bonus rate is based on 35 hours times your hourly rate of pay. It can be more or less than $580 per quarter depending on the calculation of the performance factors.

Preferred Basic Technology Skills

Our ideal candidate will be:

• proficient with performing intermediate computer functions and technology problem solving,
• able to learn quickly to navigate multiple operating software systems including, but not limited to Microsoft Office (including Outlook) and the common accounting software systems,
• and knowledgeable and able to perform all basic receptionist and clerical related tasks independently and with ease.
