Accounting Supervisor supervises accounting staff in daily operations of one or more accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, ledger maintenance, revenue, and asset accounting. Oversees calculating, posting, and verification of financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records. Being an Accounting Supervisor ensures all analysis and reporting are accurate and prepared in compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Establishes and implements productivity and quality standards. Additionally, Accounting Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Accounting Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an Accounting Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.     As Accounting Supervisor, you will:

    • Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, fixed assets, general & entity accounting, and cost accounting, etc.
    • Develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial records for multiple sites. Advise to ensure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals.
    • Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc. when necessary.
    • Manage commercial banking relationships, wire transfers and all banking activity in conjunction with the Treasury Team.
    • Work closely with the Director of Operations in the development and economic evaluation of the yearly budget and quarterly forecasts.
    • Manage the operational and fiscal activities of the department to include: staffing, budgets, forecasts, and financial goals.
    • Perform in-depth, moderately complex technical analysis to determine present and financial performance.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. MBA and/or CPA preferred.
    • 5-7 years of relevant accounting or finance experience required, preferably in a supervisory role.
    • Requires very good knowledge of general manufacturing and warehousing operations procedures.
    • Must have very good knowledge of technology to include computers and software programs such as MS Office, spreadsheets or other specialized programs specific to the job in order to complete duties successfully.
