Role Overview:
The Gearbox Support Staff will work closely with various departments, including assembly, purchasing, and planning, to manage the product lifecycle and ensure smooth operations. This individual will be responsible for managing incoming materials, addressing backlog, supporting sales efforts, and overseeing gearbox teardown, rebuilds, and repairs. The position requires technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Management: Oversee all receiving, tracking, and allocation of materials for gearboxes and transmissions.
- Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with departments such as sales, assembly, and manufacturing to assess team needs and support product fulfillment.
- Documentation & Tracking: Keep detailed spreadsheets tracking material, job progress, and supplier commitments.
- Product Lifecycle Oversight: Support product lifecycle from incoming materials to final assembly and shipment.
- Engineering Support: Provide hands-on assemblers with engineering drawings and support rebuild efforts, even for non-original equipment.
- Supplier Coordination: Ensure timely supplier commitment, particularly for urgent parts.
- Hands-On Role: Actively manage gearbox teardown, rebuild, documentation, and repairs.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing and project management.
- Strong understanding of business processes, Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with strong spreadsheet management skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of engineering principles.
- Ability to work across multiple departments and adapt to varying demands.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineering or technical degree (preferred but not required).
