Accounts Payable Manager manages accounts payable functions to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Ensures timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers and maintains accurate financial records and control reports. Being an Accounts Payable Manager routinely reviews applicable accounting reports to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvements or cost-savings. Reviews and evaluates the accounts payable register to ensure accuracy. Additionally, Accounts Payable Manager designs and implements standard policies and procedures to ensure accurate and compliant accounts payable records. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Accounts Payable Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Accounts Payable Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Responsibilities 

    - Analyzes and processes accounts payable in a timely manner.

    - Codes such items as invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests, etc., with correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial system.

    - Handles all vendor correspondence via phone or email.

    - Investigates and resolves problems associated with processing of invoices.

    - Prepares check requests, wire transfers, and ACH transactions.

    - Reconciles various accounts on a monthly basis, bringing any discrepancies to the attention of the Controller.

    - Receives, researches and resolves a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons.

    - Files, maintains, and distributes accounting documents, records and reports.

    - Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department.

    Position Requirements:

    - Associate’s degree or higher in Business, Accounting, or Finance is ideal but not necessary. 

    - 2 years of experience in an accounts payable role.

    - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including effective interpersonal and collaboration skills.

    - Attention to detail and accuracy.

    - Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.

    - Ability to multi-task.

    - Open to change and willing to learn new skills.

    - Ability to follow up on pending issues.

    - Ability to meet deadlines.

    - Ability to work in high paced demanding environments.
