Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager manages the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions of an organization to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Reviews and evaluates the accounts payable and receivable registers to validate charges and ensure timely and accurate payments and receipt of payments. Being an Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager monitors account aging reports, identifies delinquent accounts, and refers accounts to collection agencies. Verifies customer credit limits and applicable payment terms. Additionally, Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager designs and implements standard policies and procedures to ensure accurate and compliant financial records. Audits methods and procedures of the accounts payable and receivable functions to improve efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Accounts Payable & Purchasing Manager is responsible for 1) managing vendor relationships, including setup, correspondence, and payments; and 2) assisting with purchasing needs across all departments, including the sourcing, negotiating, pricing, ordering, receiving, and delivery of products to the property.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    • Analyze invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment
    • Code invoices to maintain general ledger expense account and inventory records
    • Ensure correct payments are made to vendors in a timely manner
    • Reconcile vendor statements
    • Ensure appropriate tax identification and credentials have been collected from vendors
    • Ensure proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records
    • Purchase goods and services according to the company’s policies and procedures
    • Coordinate with managers to develop metrics to gauge inventory level needs and procedures to maintain those levels
    • Maintain records of goods ordered and received
    • Evaluate vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history
    • Work with vendors to negotiate contracts, pricing, and available discounts and to formulate supplier policies
    • Propose improvements to the current purchasing system to improve operations and lower costs
    • Other duties may be assigned from time to time
    Qualifications
    Required
    • Minimum of two years of relevant work experience
    • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team
    • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and adapt to changes in the work environment
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent analytical skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
    • Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records
    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite or related software
    • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
    Preferred
    • Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
    • Two or more years of leadership or management level experience
    • Experience with QuickBooks software
    • Strong problem resolution and interpersonal skills
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENT
    • This job is generally an indoor position but is subject to working with and doing tasks that involve exposure to weather, chemical, and equipment hazards
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
    The Accounts Payable & Purchasing Manager is sometimes expected to work weekends and/or irregular hours.
