Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager jobs in Salt Lake City, UT

The Accounts Receivable Accounting Manager will lead a team of accountants and analysts in reconciling and recording customer payments to accounts receivable (AR). This role will closely with IT to prioritize, implement and refine automation over the AR accounting process. This manager will lead an experienced team of accountants and analysts that work onsite in Tesla offices in Draper, UT and Austin, TX. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background in the AR cycle, enjoys coaching a high-performing team and is passionate about leveraging technology to reduce manual labor and automate accounting functions.

• Ensure timely and accurate recording of customer payments to accounts receivable across multiple business segments (auto sales, auto leasing, service, etc.) for North and South America
• Regularly analyze management reporting and key metrics to detect and resolve any unusual trends or results in the cash recording process
• Research significant and unusual transactions to determine appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP
• Identify process improvement opportunities and lead collaboration efforts with other departments (IT, Business Information, Payment Processing) to implement automated solutions
• Build strong working relationships with leaders in other finance departments (e.g., Revenue, Billing, Order Operations) to collaborate on cross-functional process improvement initiatives

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, or equivalent
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Detail-oriented, organized, resourceful and able to manage shifting priorities
• Experience leading an operational accounting team at a large company
• Flexibility with non-standard working hours for month-end close
• Passionate about leveraging technology to scale accounting processes
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., Macros, advanced formulas) preferred
