Job Summary: The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible supervising and prioritizing tasks for the Accounts Payable team including oversight of check runs, ACH payments, accurate invoice entry and other accounts payable functions.

Essential Job Functions:

• Oversight of AP function related to purchase order procurements, using 3-way matching, prior to payment submittal
• Oversight of AP function related to non-purchase order procurements, with internal representatives, prior to payment submittal
• Reviews coding on invoices into accounting system
• Responsible for weekly check run, validating accuracy invoice entry and payments
• Corresponds with vendors regarding request for invoice payments, invoice explanations and monthly statements
• Collaborates with AP and Accounting team to adhere to proper internal controls
• Collaborates with AP and Accounting team to develop, review and adhere to SOP’s
• Handles monthly sales tax payments, state and local income tax payments as needed
• Identifies outstanding items by generating open payables reports
• Identifies and documents month-end accrual items
• Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or a Health Safety and Environmental team member
• Participates in proactive teams to achieve departmental and company goals
• Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 5 – 8 years accounts payable experience required
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Possess good organizational and time management skills
• Must have analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Must have advanced computer and technological skills such as Microsoft Suite and Adobe Acrobat
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral or diagram form
• Capable of effectively presenting information to internal and external groups
