Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for supervising and guiding the day-to-day operational activities of an accounts payable function. Maintains and reconciles accounts payable ledger to validate charges and ensure accurate and timely payments. Being an Accounts Payable Supervisor prepares and evaluates applicable accounting reports to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost-savings and relays the conclusions to management. Implements standard operating procedures to maintain accurate financial records and compliance with accounting policies. Additionally, Accounts Payable Supervisor investigates and resolves discrepancies in billings and payments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Accounts Payable Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Accounts Payable Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Job Summary:The Accounts Payable Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing a team that processes the company’s accounts payable in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. Support other accounting/finance functions and ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices while providing solutions to financial function inquiries. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will provide daily leadership, expertise, advice, and guidance to the A/P team to empower them to deliver at a consistently high level of accuracy and will assist the A/P team with non-routine transactional activities. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will take the initiative to promote continuous improvement within the A/P department and within the entire P2P process. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will actively collaborate with the Treasury department to ensure that payments are made that make the most business sense to optimize cash flow.
Responsibilities:- Develops and maintains data-driven Accounts Payable KPI’s for the department, internal customers, and management.
- Participates in establishing & enforcing departmental policies & standard operating procedures, in compliance with company policies.
- Works with internal and external customers to ensure timely recognition, problem resolution, and payment of invoices.
- Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met.
- Manages the resolution of issues escalated from team members and other customers (interna/external).
- Works with internal and external customers to resolve unposted invoice issues.
- Engaged in month-end closing process to ensure all invoices are recorded timely and accurately in the financial statements.
- Provides supporting information for audit (internal and external) requests.
- Responsible for processing annual 1099 reporting.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, required with 2 - 5 years’ experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership, critical thinking/problem solving, analytical, organization and judgement skills.
- Experience and adaptability to manage deadlines and function well in a fast-paced growing environment.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers.
- Experience with SAP.
- Must be willing to work over when needed.
