The Accounts Payable Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Accounts Payable Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:  This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Human Support Services Cluster (HSSC), Department of Health (DOH). The incumbent directs the work of Accounts Payable Technicians and oversees the planning and timely execution of all financial management and accounts payable functions.  Duties include, but are not limited to: approving scheduled invoices and releasing of payments; ensuring accounting codes, commitments, obligations, disbursements, and collections are recorded and posted appropriately; analyzing, researching, and resolving invoicing issues; reviewing accounting transactions; training all staff on operational policy and procedures; providing supporting evidence of records and reconciliations; and preparing, reviewing and analyzing reports; Performs other related duties as assigned.Three (3) years of progressive experience performing the related duties and responsibilities such as overseeing the processing of payment disbursements; analyzing and reconciling financial transactions; verifying the accuracy of financial data and preparing reports; conducting financial analysis and utilizing financial systems to review entries and accounting codes for accuracy.  In addition, one (1) year must include providing guidance to lower-level staff.Experience that provides the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for this position.
