We are seeking an accounts receivable clerk to join our accounting/administration department and report to the CFO.
As an accounts receivable clerk, you will be responsible for:
- Operating computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information
- Checking figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes
- Complying with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations
- Receiving, recording, and banking cash, checks, and vouchers
- Coding documents according to company procedures
- Performing financial calculations, such as amounts due, interest charges, balances, discounts, equity, and principal
- Classifying, recording, and summarizing numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records using journals, ledgers, or computers
- Reconciling or noting and reporting discrepancies found in records
- Debiting, crediting, and totaling accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases using specialized accounting software
- Matching order forms with invoices and recording the necessary information
- Accessing computerized financial information to answer general questions and those related to specific accounts
- Performing general office duties, such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence
To qualify for this position, you should have:
- Two-year post-high school education in Accounting preferred, or equivalent work experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other software packages as needed
- Experience with Great Plains software preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, listening, and feedback communications
- Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity, and change
- Strong prioritization, organizational, and communication skills with a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and service orientation
You should also be able to bend, squat, climb, kneel, sit, stand, and walk frequently throughout the day. The working conditions are normal for an office environment.
