Accounts Receivable Clerk supports the day-to-day operational activities of an accounts receivable department. Creates and distributes invoices to customers. Being an Accounts Receivable Clerk records, verifies, and posts payments received by the organization and ensures transactions are recorded in accordance with internal accounting policies. Maintains and reconciles accounts receivable ledger to ensure accurate and timely receipt of payments. Additionally, Accounts Receivable Clerk responds to customer inquiries and assists with the research of any discrepancies regarding bills. May utilize accounting software and systems to manage invoices and payments. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounts Receivable Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     Specific Responsibilities:
    • Maintain up-to-date billing system
    • Generate and send out invoices
    • Follow up on, collect and allocate payments
    • Carry out billing, collection, and reporting activities according to specific deadlines
    • Perform account reconciliations
    • Monitor customer account details for non-payments delayed payments and other irregularities
    • Research and resolve payment discrepancies
    • Generate age analysis
    • Review AR aging to ensure compliance
    • Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records
    • Follow established procedures for processing receipts, cash, etc.
    • Process credit card and ACH payments
    • Prepare bank deposits
    • Investigate and resolve customer queries
    • Develop a recovery system and initiate collection efforts
    • Communicate courteously with customers via phone, email, mail, or personally
    • Maintain electronic and hard copy filing system
    • Prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos, and emails

    Requirements/Qualifications:
    • Knowledge of accounts receivable
    • Knowledge of office administration and procedures
    • Proficient in relevant computer software including Microsoft Excel and Word.
    • knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
    • 1-3 years of accounts receivable/general accounting experience
