The Accounts Receivable Specialist position processes all incoming payments. This position also researches issues with payments. The Accounts Receivable Specialist position serves as the first point of contact for all incoming calls regarding any accounts receivable issues.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Position may involve performing other duties as required, which may not be mentioned below. Specific functions may change from time to time.

• Process incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivable data.
• Past due collections
• Serve as primary point of contact for all incoming calls related to Receivables.
• Investigate and resolve problems associated with processing of payments.
• Verify transaction compliance with financial policies and procedures established by the Company.
• Accounts Payable backup.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by executive leadership.

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

• Prompt and accurate processing of payments, reports, and inquiries to ensure satisfaction of both internal and external parties.
• Ability to correspond with external and internal customers and vendors professionally and effectively via phone and email.
• Excellent attention to detail in a rapidly changing environment.
• The ability to work under pressure and multitask to resolve critical issues related to customer deliveries and driver safety.
• Maintenance of Company information in a confidential manner.

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Consistent use of computer, requiring visual focus.
• The ability to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel crouch or crawl occasionally.
• Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• The ability to work with tight, frequent deadlines and a consistent commitment to adhere to those deadlines.
• Strong motivation to support senior management and all Finance department staff proactively, taking on tasks as needed to get departmental deliverables and goals accomplished.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS

• This position requires working in an office environment.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

• A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One to two years’ general office experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work with numbers.
• Willingness to take on additional tasks as assigned.
• Experience with customer service and problem resolution is preferred.
