Accounts Receivable Supervisor is responsible for supervising and guiding operations in the accounts receivable function of an organization. Maintains and reconciles accounts receivable ledger to ensure accurate and timely receipt of payments. Being an Accounts Receivable Supervisor monitors collection period and sends follow-up inquiries regarding payments for the organization. Negotiates with past-due accounts to resolve all payment issues in a timely manner. Additionally, Accounts Receivable Supervisor implements standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and controls. Generates reports to bring insight into collections, account ages, and other relevant metrics and relays conclusions to management. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Accounts Receivable Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Accounts Receivable Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Emerson Oil is a family-owned business that has been a presence in Rochester for over 85 years. We are engaged in the distribution of automotive fluids, diesel exhaust fluid, and auto part accessories in upstate New York. We are looking for an organized and motivated individual to join our team as an Accounting Clerk.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities include but are not limited to invoicing and monthly billing, 3rd party billing, month end statement preparation, assist in biannual inventory audit, cash reconciliation and cash deposit preparation, assist in bulk product reconciliation, scan/index invoices and bol’s into scanning system, handle customer invoice/statement questions and follow up on past due accounts. Occasionally handle walk-in customer transactions or phone orders.
All candidates should possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Our accounting software is Great Plains and all accounting and payroll processes are handled using this software. Good typing skills, proficiency on a 10-key calculator, and familiarity with a Microsoft Windows based computer are necessary.
Education/experience requirements: Associate degree in accounting or 2 years of experience or related training.
