**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a passionate Activities Director to join our team and enhance the quality of life for our residents. The ideal candidate will have a love for working with the elderly with some knowledge of senior care. They will also have the ability to create engaging activites that promote social interaction and overall well-being.
**Responsibilities:**
- Develop and implement a diverse range of activities to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of residents
- Coordinate group activities, outings, and events tailored to residents' interests and abilities
- Collaborate with staff to integrate activities into individual care plans
- Assess residents' needs and preferences to create personalized activity schedules
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and program effectiveness
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all activities
**Skills:**
- Experience in care, social work, recreational therapy (or desire to learn)
- Knowledge of recreational therapy principles preferred
- Understanding of dementia care and memory support preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with seniors and their families
- Familiarity with aging issues
- Previous experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is a plus
