The Activity Coordinator requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Organizes and provides program content for social events for an organization or group of people. Being an Activity Coordinator relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Position Summary:
The Intergenerational Activities Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing and coordinating intergenerational activities for program participants in our specialized Alzheimer’s and Dementia care unit.
Essential Functions:
1. Plan, implement and coordinate with other staff members, the activities for adult daycare participants as well as help coordinate intergenerational activities.
2. Provide outings for day care participants.
3. Attend professional conferences and meetings relating to therapeutic activities.
4. Attend weekly staff meetings and quarterly all staff meetings.
5. Mentor, supervise and evaluate students participating as aide, volunteer, community service or college internship.
6. Interact with Volunteer Coordinator to have volunteers for outings and other activities such as crafts.
7. Plan, print and distribute activity calendar each month.
8. Arrange in-house entertainers and presentations for adults and submit requisitions for payment for said services in a timely manner.
9. Organize and maintain equipment, supplies and stage areas.
10. Organize and maintain online and paper files of references and resource materials.
11. Shop/order supplies and equipment for activities when needed.
12. Submit receipts and requisitions in a timely manner to respective business offices and keep records for cost of supplies and incidentals.
13. Provide occupational evaluations of client activity abilities.
14. Communicate or publicize information of events and activities of interest to other departments as appropriate.
15. Plan variation in activities to provide options to clientele with adaptations to accommodate the special needs.
Marginal Functions:
1. Assist in transporting clients as needed.
2. Assist with dinner duty as necessary.
3. Provide for other duties requested by the Director of Adult Day Services.
4. Demonstrate professional interpersonal skills at all times when representing St. Ann Center.
5. Be resourceful and creative in activity planning and use of materials.

Qualification/Training:
BA or COTA & OTR training in related geriatric setting or qualifying experience with frail older adults, CPR training.
