Summary
The Child Life Activity Coordinator plans and coordinates a variety of therapeutic activities and interventions designed to reduce the stress and anxiety accompanying hospitalization and other health care encounters.
Coordinates the receipt, storage and distribution of in-kind donations. Plans, maintains, and provides programming for the child life programmatic programs.
Provides support to various patient and family centered care programs to enhance patient experience and outcomes. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

Key Job Responsibilities
Plans activities and events to promote a child friendly environment that supports growth and development.
Provides and maintains age appropriate supplies in compliance with safety and infection prevention policies. Assists inventory control and storage of hospital based supplies.
Follows guidelines regarding toy cleaning and environment of care.
Manages in-kind donation stewardship process to best serve patient / family needs. Supports the distribution and maintenance of toys and equipment.
Assures materials are clean and in good repair. Organizes and maintains inventory of Child Life storage areas.
Collaborates with a interdisciplinary team to prioritize patient needs. Communicates observations and pertinent information to appropriate team members to support continuity of care.
Make appropriare referrals when needs are beyond scope of the role.
Provides support of various family engagement programs, such as Sibiling Playroom, Parental Presence during Induction etc. as necessary.
