The Activity Coordinator requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Organizes and provides program content for social events for an organization or group of people. Being an Activity Coordinator relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. In addition, Activity Coordinator performs a variety of tasks. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm
Pay: $15.00 per hour
The Activity Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day activities for Shen-Pacos’ group day program.
Essential Functions:
1. Implements individuals training activities in accordance with assigned PCP goals.
2. Plans and implements a daily schedule of activities that incorporates a variety of activities.
3. Ensures that individuals community outings are completed as often as required and documented appropriately.
4. Maintains and submits appropriate daily records related to individual activity.
5. Works with Program Director, Program Coordinator Supervisor, and Program Coordinators in assisting with the development of individual outcomes, assessments, and behavioral plans.
6. Ensures overall safety of individuals and enforces/safeguards individuals’ rights.
7. Assists individuals with toileting and personal hygiene.
8. Works with individuals and staff to create a productive, safe, and pleasurable atmosphere.
9. Communicates with residential homes, parents, guardians, and staff successfully both verbally and in writing.
10. Assists program coordinators as needed.
11. Help with planning and execution of all special events.
12. Reports health and safety issues with individuals to activity supervisor.
13. Maintains a clean and safe environment.
14. Supervises individuals at time of departure, ensuring their safety into their transportation home.
15. Complete daily documentation of progress notes according to examples set forth by management and training.
16. Assists individuals at break and lunch time (snack & meal preparation).
17. Must protect the human rights of each individual, ensuring the confidentiality of his / her records.
18. Follows medication administration policies and procedures.
19. Ensures overall safety of individuals and enforces/safeguards individual’s rights.
20. A team player who works with other Activity Coordinators and the Program Director to develop a program that is within the licensure boundaries and is fun for the individuals as well.
Education and Experience:
§ High school diploma or GED.
§ Prefer some experience working with persons who are developmentally disabled. Ability to work well with a variety of people.
