    As the Assistant Director of Nursing at Palolo Chinese Home in Honolulu, HI, you will work closely with the Director of Nursing to ensure the smooth operation of the Nursing Department.     To excel as the Assistant Director of Nursing at Palolo Chinese Home, candidates must possess a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution and hold a valid Hawaii State RN license, along with First Aid and CPR certification. A minimum of 3 years' experience in a licensed nurse role in a long-term care (LTC) setting is required, including previous supervisory or management experience. Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency in rehabilitative, geriatric, or long-term care nursing concepts, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with medical and long-term care procedures, as well as the ability to adapt care based on residents' functional abilities, is essential. Strong leadership, organizational, and MS Office skills, along with autonomy, assertiveness, and flexibility, are key to thriving in this role.

    Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

    • Must have a Bachelor's of Science in nursing from an accredited College or University and must have a Hawaii State RN license
    • Current First Aid and CPR certifications
    • Must have at least 3 years' experience as a licensed nurse in a LTC setting.
    • Previous supervisory/management experience.
    • Must have training and experience in rehabilitative geriatric or long-term care nursing concepts.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
    • Able to handle residents based on whatever functional level they are currently at.
    • Possess leadership abilities, patience, tact and a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
    • Must be proficient with MS Office
