Camp Massapoag Activity Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:
Camp Massapoag Activity Specialists are responsible for leading safe and constructive special activity programming in
Archery, Creative Arts, Nature/Outdoor Skills, Challenge Courses (low ropes/climbing wall) and Boating. The
specialists plan and lead programs for their program area, maintain the facilities and equipment needed for safe
operation, and assist counselors in supervising campers while they participate.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Plan and oversee a variety of programs and activities for the designated specialty area. Ensure the

activities are safe, age appropriate for the different camper groups and contribute to their growth and
well-being.

• Work with counselors to supervise campers while engaged in respective activity area. Ensure adherence to

all safety policies by campers and staff.

• Clean and maintain activity area facilities and equipment. Work with the program director to secure any

needed supplies or replace any unusable materials. Maintain up-to-date inventory lists of program area.

• Cooperate with Program Director and staff in planning and running all-camp special activities.
• Provide additional support to counselors for supervision of campers as needed.
• Participate in all agreed-upon and assigned aspects of campers’ day which includes but is not limited to

bus-in and bus-out, attendance, activities, daily opening/closing duties.

• Attending all required staff training and meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 18 years of age
• Complete Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and Sexual Offender Registration Information (SORI)

check

• Up-to-date immunization record and health history
• Current First Aid, CPR and AED certification
• Experience guiding children and expertise in specialty field.
• Leadership and organization skills
• Level 1 Challenge Course Certification (Low Ropes/Climbing Wall)
• Lifeguard and Small Watercraft Safety training (Boating)
• Level 1 Archery Instructor certification (Archery)

Specialist - $650 to $725/wk

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $650.00 - $725.00 per week
