Actuarial Services Director directs the activities of an organization's actuarial function. Oversees the analysis and evaluation of potential risks to determine the financial impacts of new or existing insurance plans. Being an Actuarial Services Director develops policies, procedures, and formulas to guide statistical analysis and actuarial research and evaluate the likelihood and financial impact of various risks. Designs processes and guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance of products and financial operations. Additionally, Actuarial Services Director leads the design and development of insurance products by evaluating and approving insurance rates, premium levels, and rating systems and structures. Oversees the preparation of actuarial reports, financial statements, and regulatory filings and develops financial budgets, forecasts, and other financial projections. Researches and selects major rating assumptions to support accurate statistical analysis and evaluates the effectiveness of existing formulas. Evaluates product performance against established profitability targets and recommends modifications. Applies knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculations in life, health, social, and casualty insurance, annuities, and pensions. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA). May require Fellow of Society of Actuaries (FSA). Typically reports to senior management. The Actuarial Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Actuarial Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. What You'll Do:
π As the Director of the Emergency Services Department, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring top-notch patient care in our bustling Emergency Department. Your responsibilities include problem-solving, active committee participation, enhancing the patient experience, coaching, and effective communication. You'll also enforce high standards of emergency department care, oversee performance improvement programs, and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- β - Bachelor's degree in nursing required
- β - Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
- β - 3 years of experience in emergency services required
- β - 3 years of leadership experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- β - Current RN license in the state of practice required
- β - ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and BLS certifications required
Additional Perks:

- π€ Reports to Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
- π₯ 5 Managers as Direct Reports (2 Managers at Main ED, 1 Manager per FSED)
- π₯ Main ER with 44 Beds, Level 2 Trauma, 160-190K patients annually
- π 3 FSEDs with around 10 Beds each; smaller 2 FSEDs see 20-25 patients/day, busy FSED sees 60-90 patients/day
- π§ New Behavioral Health facility at Trident - a significant volume of behavioral health cases through the ED
- π€ Great team, high engagement, strong relationship with medical director and physicians

Compensation & Benefits:
- π° - Minimum: $125,881 πΌ - Mid-Range: $163,633
- π - Bonus Incentives: 15-22.5% Potential
