Administrative Services Director plans and directs the operations of an organization's staff and service functions. Oversees various internal service functions that typically include administrative/office, financial operations, facility maintenance/space planning, security, hospitality services, equipment and supply procurement, vendor management, and others. Being an Administrative Services Director monitors capital and operating budget spending. Designs and implements processes and policies that support efficient service delivery and meet the organization's changing needs. Additionally, Administrative Services Director sets departmental performance goals and standards of service. Utilizes data analytics to measure activity and drive continuous improvement. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Administrative Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Administrative Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Human Services – Healthcare Administrative Intern

    • Effectively responds to and manages crisis situations, which may include client physical aggression, utilizing prescribed verbal intervention or physical management techniques.
    • Works closely with the Residential Managers and Lead Staff to help run assigned units.
    • Consistently implements behavior management plans to reduce client’s maladaptive behaviors, promote appropriate social behaviors and maximize human potential of each client served.
    • Ensures that all activities, services and programs through Damar are conducted in a manner that is sensitive to and shows respect for the cultural and ethnic diversity for all Damar clients.
    • Promotes and assists with the development of appropriate daily living, self-help and social skills.
    • Remains awake and engaged at all times – competently supervising and monitoring the clients. Never leaving clients unattended unless permitted for periods of time based on a client’s Individual Support Plan.
    • Conducts and supervises recreational and life enrichment activities.
    • Understands client’s rights and protects them by promptly reporting any violations.
    • Follows physician’s orders to properly administer medication to clients.
    • Completes all required documentation on a daily basis, in a professional manner – must be objective, accurate and thorough - to provide consistent client treatment.
    • Understands and follows the rules governing client service documentation, including but not limited to medication logs, incident reports, progress notes and all other documentation assigned.
    • Will adhere to all policies and procedures as defined in the Employee Handbook and Damar Operational Policies and Procedures Manual.
    • Takes pride and ownership in Damar’s facilities and assigned work areas.
    • Attends mandatory staff meeting and other meetings as assigned.
    • Completes and updates mandatory training and other licensure related items in a timely manner.
    • Maintains documentation that is accurate and legible.
    • Completes incident reports, including reporting any suspected exploitation, abuse, or neglect of a client.
    • Utilizes data collection in relation to driving and tracking outcomes and achieving agency initiatives and goals.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    What you need to start...

    • High school diploma.
    • Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).
    • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and physical.
    • Must meet and maintain background screening requirements of program(s) assigned to.
    • No felony convictions or other criminal offenses involving a dependent population.

    Essential Job Functions:

    Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

    Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

    Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

The Human Services – Healthcare Administrative Intern will work closely with a variety of managers at Damar to understand how to be an administrator in a healthcare operation while learning how to staff it as well.

     

    This a 12 week summer program that pays at the hourly rate of $12.00.
