He/she supervises and coordinates the activities of the Operating Room, Endoscopy, Post Anesthetic Care Unit, Ambulatory Surgery Department, Peri-operative Clinic, Pre-Admission Testing Department, OR Supply Coordinators, Surgery Center and the Operating Room Central Sterile department 24/7. He/she is responsible for ongoing development of department policies and procedures. Participates in the investigation and preparation of reports relative to the improvement of care and services, maintains regulatory standards, and maintains the Operating Room/Surgery Center inventories, safety training, and personnel performance. He/she ensures appropriate staffing levels to maintain quality patient care; and ensures the needs of patients are provided in an efficient and cost-effective manner. He/she ensures compliance with policies and procedures; communicates at a high level with Administration, physicians, unit staff, and other MGH personnel to ensure best practice for our customers. Ensures the department’s mission, vision, values, and strategic and quality plan reflects the organizations current and anticipated strategic priorities.
