The Role: The Custodial Supervisor is an expert in janitorial cleaning, best practices, and delivers on-site, hands-on, field training, supervision and quality control for our cleaning services. The right Supervisor will manage the cleaning team, build trust with customers, assist with quality inspections, manage scheduling, and ensure our team members complete each scope of work within established labor guidelines.
Additional responsibilities include proper custodial procedures for the use of manually operated tools, electrically powered machines, cleaning compounds, solvents and chemicals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A high school diploma or the equivalent is required.
Experience: At least four years of experience in custodial services, three of which must have been in a supervisory role, like this one, which includes knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and supplies, is required.
Skills: Supervisory skills; management skills, such as planning and organizing; strong oral and written communication skills; and the ability to train new employees are required. Must display a professional demeanor with interactions with customers. Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Supervises the activities of all fellow custodians to ensure high quality productivity and customer satisfaction.
2. Establish custodial guidelines by scheduling work activities and adjusting workloads to compensate for scheduled and unscheduled absences, changing priorities, and special custodial projects.
3. Ensures that the quality of custodial services meets established guidelines by inspecting the work of custodial personnel and directing corrective measures to be taken when necessary to meet those guidelines.
4. Delivers consistent, effective individual and team training on cleaning best practices and the safe and effective use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
5. Assists in hiring qualified employees by participating in the interview process and making recommendations regarding the employment of applicants.
6. Able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance.
May be subject to 24 hours on call responsibilities.
Compensation $40K-$50K, depending on experience.
