Admissions Coordinator Job Responsibilities:
The admissions coordinator will receive and process new referrals to our facility, will verify eligibility/insurance benefits, and will update hospital case managers and other referral sources on admission decisions. Primary responsibility is facilitating all aspects of the admissions to the nursing facility. Other duties will include:
1. Completing Admissions paperwork with patient or family members
2. Follow up on prior authorization requests
3. Authorization tracking
4. Room preparation prior to patient arrival to ensure room is ready and equipment is in room
5. Prepare and place welcome baskets in new patient rooms
6. Same day welcome visits with new residents
7. Contact RP/family of new residents for paperwork and to welcome them to facility
8. Medicaid pending applications, follow up on paperwork etc.
9. Scan hospital paperwork and other documents to our electronic medical record
10. Detailed referral tracking/reports as requested by administrator and Director of Business Development
11. Assist with marketing efforts including emailing, preparing marketing items for marketer to take out to hospitals and doctor’s offices, etc.
12. Tours
13. Customer satisfaction surveys
14. Assist with following up on pending contracting requests
15. Enter new admissions (pre-admissions) into electronic record
16. Manager on duty responsibilties periodically
